Omar Suleiman’s Candidacy; Plan for Disqualifying Pro-Islamic Candidates

سه شنبه, ۱۲ ارديبهشت ۱۳۹۱، ۰۱:۲۴ ق.ظ

The candidacy of Omar Suleiman, unpopular Egyptian figure and agent of the Zionist Regime, was actually plotted to disqualify the pro-Islamic candidates in Egypt’s presidential elections.

This is according to Mohammad Hassan Ghadiri Abyaneh, former Iranian ambassador in Mexico and Australia who has got a PhD in strategic management, who answered the following questions regarding recent electoral contest in Egypt.

What follows are excerpts from the interview:

IQNA: Some Western media have lately reported a mutual agreement between Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimin (Society of Muslim Brothers) and Egyptian Military Council for power divisions. How do you evaluate the accord?

Ghadiri: Although Hosni Mubarak has died, the military council is trying to preserve the policies of the former regime by suppressing the mob and maintaining its power. On the other hand, AlIkhwan AlMuslimin advocates a peaceful transfer of power to people’s representatives while it is against the military council remaining in absolute power.

What is noteworthy in this regard is that Omar Suleiman’s candidacy is only a trick to disqualify pro-Islamic candidates, as AlIkhwan AlMuslimin’ candidate has stressed two principles, namely Islamizing Egypt and supporting the Palestinians. That is why Israeli foreign minister has identified the developments in Egypt as greater in effect compared to those in Iran, calling for four Israeli armies to be settled in their joint border with Egypt.

As Egypt’s population comprises half of Arabs’ population and holds a profound cultural influence throughout the Arab world, the formation of an Islamic government in this country will be of great help to slacken the ruling power of the dictators in the region.

IQNA: The Egyptian Parliament offered a proposition to the Supreme Legislative Court of Egypt on preventing the political activities of the former regime’s officials, but the court refused to investigate the proposal and sent it to the military council. How do you think the council will react to the plan?

Ghadiri: It will surely oppose the proposal and do its utmost to prevent its approval, as it includes the council’s members as well and will stop them from remaining in power. Yet, had the parliament been under the control of the military council, they could have hindered Egypt’s Islamic revolution and Mubarak were now in power.

IQNA: Amr Moussa has introduced himself an experienced man who can use his experience to run Egypt’s presidency, stressing that the position should not be taken by an inexperienced pro-Islamic government. As most of the parliamentary seats in Egypt have been taken by pro-Islamic parties, how do you predict the political strategy of Egyptian parties and the status of AlIkhwan AlMuslimin in the elections?

Ghadiri: Amr Moussa is an experienced man but has used his experience to support Mubarak’s regime. He could have replaced Mubarak following his death. In other words, he can run a US-dependant country not an Islamic system; therefore, he may be a good choice for Israel or the West not for Egypt. Like the council’s members and officials of Mubarak’s regime, he is against running Egypt in Islamic ways.

IQNA: What does Cairo’s undertaking to call off Egypt’s gas export to Israel suggest about the future relations between Cairo and Tel Aviv?

Ghadiri: No future is awaiting Cairo and Tel Aviv, and Egypt will join the anti-Zionist resistance front and turn into a supporter of Palestinians. The military council is sure calling for the resumption of gas export to Israel but this is against the public demands. People not only consider the Zionist Regime illegitimate but are also against developing any relations with it.
